Shadow Program

Shadow Program

What is job shadowing?

Job shadowing is a short-term career exploration experience that enables inspectors to learn more about their chosen profession by observing an experienced Professional Inspector and experiencing the day-to-day activities of the job. This program gives the inspector the chance to see what it’s actually like working as a real estate inspector, learn about the various job responsibilities and get valuable insights into the industry.

The IRC Shadow Program is for licensed inspectors. We offer this program because inspector licensing is not a substitute for experience.

The IRC Shadow Program offers a unique opportunity for young inspectors to gain first-hand experience and knowledge through job shadowing.

Benefits of Inspector Job Shadowing

Through our IRC Shadow Program, we aim to provide inspectors with an opportunity to experience what it takes to be successful. Our experienced inspectors will take the time to show and explain to the inspector how different tasks are performed.

Shadowing an experienced inspector is a great opportunity to learn from a seasoned professional and gain valuable industry insights.

This hands-on experience can be invaluable in helping you to build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of the inspection process.

Job shadowing can provide networking opportunities with other professionals in the industry, which can lead to the formation of valuable business connections and partnerships.

This opportunity enables you to further your knowledge and skills, ensuring that you stay updated with the latest industry trends and practices.

How to Join in Inspector Job Shadow Program

To participate in inspector job shadowing, the first step is to identify inspectors in your area who offer this program. You can search online, attend industry events and meetings, or seek referrals from colleagues. After identifying potential inspectors, reach out to them to express your interest in joining their inspector job shadow program.

Keep in mind that inspector job shadowing is meant for educational purposes only and should not be used as an opportunity to solicit business or promote your services. Additionally, it’s important to be respectful of the inspector’s time and adhere to their guidelines and procedures during the ride-along.
